Description
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School, USA - cut off and in trouble with the law. A small Jesuit school in Indianapolis got attention in 2019 when it refused to fire a teacher who was in a gay marriage. The school was then cut from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, but the case still has no final resolution and now a new scandal. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School violated the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The school allowed a global data breach. The personal information of students and faculty, as well as all sponsors and parents of students, was made publicly available. In addition, financial information and strategic development plans for 2026-2027 were published. These plans will now have to be corrected. FERPA violations could result in the loss of federal funding. In addition, a safety audit must be conducted and school leaders will be held administratively liable. Also, the released data may contain new information about the school's gay scandal.
