Description
Banana collapse. AgroFair Benelux BV, based in Barendrecht, the Netherlands, is an importer and distributor of organic and Fairtrade tropical fresh fruit that sells its products in Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Finland, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and the UK. AgroFair is owned by growers based in Ghana, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Peru, Burkina Faso, and the Dominican Republic and buys all products directly from them or their organizations. The company says all their products are certified, but the documents published show that's not true. Anyone can check this out now—the published documents have the personal and contact details of all suppliers. When the company let this data leak, it broke a few EU laws and could now face serious penalties.
